Stephen began his real estate career as a founding officer and President of the Heritage Residential Group, a homebuilder active in Florida and Michigan. Heritage merged with Abbey Homes in 1998, with Steve going on to serve as President. During his 18 years at the helm of the home building company, he oversaw the construction of more than 3500 homes in Florida and Michigan. While at Abbey Homes, the company received national recognition as the leader for quality, price and value in its markets. In December of 2006, Steve transferred to Abbey Realty and Management where he led the acquisition team in the purchase of its predecessor.
Steve graduated with honors from Michigan State University and then earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Cincinnati. Upon receiving his MBA, Steve worked for Michigan National Bank, where he attained the rank of Vice President. He has been honored by business and industry groups, including the Building Industry Association of Southeastern Michigan, which named him Young Builder of the Year in 1992 and Builder of the Year in 1996. He served as that organization’s President in 2001 and continues to serve on its Board of Directors. Steve currently is a member of the Sarasota Association of Realtors as well as the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce.
When he has the time, Steve can usually be found on a tennis court working on his game.
